working with dreams-004

During the DCP Spring session, we met though a virtual space Zoom meeting and talked about our night dreams. I introduced the dream related Korean culture and my Dream Ritual/ Dream Auction project. Though the Social Dreaming Matrix, we had a deep exchange of dream experiences. While we listened to others dreams we made associations that took us to somewhere deep in our minds. I’d next like to express these invisible connections and collective feelings and emotions as in our next summer session.

For our first summer session next week, we will explore how our collective expression from our last experience came out. I’ve sent you a pack of white paper clay which will be the foundation for this exercise. Please bring any other materials you’d like to use – paper, pencil, paint, wire, fabric, objects you can find in your house or outside, smartphone etc. Feel free to start to use the clay or start to think and make shapes related to your experience here. That can be from your dream or others dreams that inspired you. Maybe you can read again these notes:

Bongsu Park is a London-based Korean artist. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Arts, UK and at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, France. Her recent work is founded on how our innermost thoughts may connect with other people’s and how these can be shared publicly. Her work finds its roots in the philosophy of her homeland South Korea and brings this into the context of contemporary western societies.
